Marco’s Autobiography
My name is Marco. I’m 17 years old. I was born on September 27. I was born at Payson hospital. I’ve been in the U.S. since I was in kindergarten to the 6th grade.
When I was in the end of 9th grade, we moved back to the U.S. I’ve been here every since.
The first time I ever got in trouble with the law was because my ex-girlfriend ran away from home and came to my house. From then on things just went downhill. I began abusing alcohol, marihuana, cigarettes, etc. I got into a well known gang and began getting deeper into the system.
Ten months ago, I got caught and sent to Slate Canyon Youth Center. I was then sent to The Journey: Rising Phoenix the group home that helped see things at a different angle. Now I’ve been able to stay sober for about seven months and gang free for about six.
I live life with no regrets and try to make the best out of crappy situations. I believe that if you’re going to do something don’t do it if you’re going to regret it. Do it because that’s what you want. Learn what you can from every decision you make instead of dwelling on how it didn’t turn out your way. Be grateful for what you have. Take some time to really appreciate the things you have and how much it means to you. That is why dwelling on a crappy situation doesn’t get you anywhere but more negative. Be grateful for the things you do have and not pissed off for what you don’t have.
