Persepolis

Honestly, this book was kind of disturbing to me at first. The first half was hard for me to read because I wouldn’t be able to survive with a government so controlling over everyone’s life. And I think she acts really foolishly after she leaves her parents for Europe. It’s like she was confused about herself and didn’t know what she wanted. And she creates a lot of drama for herself and for a long while doesn’t do anything about it. But it was an interesting book, and kept me reading on out of curiosity. I’m not sure about why she wrote this, but I think she wanted to show that even through the toughest challenges, we can still come out on top and succeed. She wants to teach and show us the challenges and hardships of her and her family’s life. So hopefully everyone that has read her autobiography has learned something new about life.
