The first quote explains how there is a very thin line between normality and going crazy. The second quote says we American white people think that we’re better than other foreign countries. Civilization is proper people who do what they are supposed to and are usually successful in life. Savages are rebellious people that don’t usually take good care of themselves hygienically. I think that most people in our current world have a mix of both civilization and savagery. From what I’ve seen in life it’s the criminals and rebellious people that are more savage than man. They have let the beast inside control their decisions and it usually ends up with making very bad decisions. The people who are very proper, do everything their supposed to do, and always act on the things the world would approve of are usually very uptight and mean people. True they are successful but it’s usually at the expense of others. I think that to be truly well rounded you need to be a little of both. You definitely need to be proper and respectful but at the same time you need to let loose every once in a while and let that beast out or else it’ll tear you up from the inside out. Everyone needs to let their hair down every once in a while or else they lose friends, family, and maybe even meaning to their life.
