Today I have decided that I am going to stop being so negative with myself and give myself a break when I mess up. I have noticed that I am very hard on myself when I make a mistake or mess up on playing the guitar, for example and it tends to make me mess up even more because I am so negative in my head that I degrade myself. A good example is today when I did my playing test with Tyler, the teacher in second period, I messed up in two ways: first I tried to be at the same tempo with the two other people that I was playing with, so it threw me off and second, every time I messed up I would get angry and have negative thoughts and say negative things in my head. The thing that confirmed my thoughts on whether or not I do need to change my negative attitude is that Tyler told me that I should fix it.

You know what you need to do? you need to not swet the small stuff. i think that you let the small stuff get to you and keep telling yourself that you can do it.

with giving yourself a brake you need to find a balance. you cant let yourself off to easy, but do not be to hard on yourself. To do that pick the battles that really will matter in the long run.

If you are negative with everything in life then you won't get anywhere in life. So just keep your head up and don't focus on the negative, focus on the positive and you will get so much farther in life.

You don't need to be so hard on yourself. When you mess you, you definitely (I think) need to realize what you have done, and what you could do better, but don't get yourself down and thinking that you're a bad person because you messed up. Everybody does it. :)

Exactly! Follow what Adam has been telling you and you will become unstoppable. It sucks where you are now but let it go and move along. -regan

I agree with the old saying that we are our own harshest critic. It's important that we allow ourselves to bounce back when we have problems, or else we just end up in a cycle where we can't be happy and are only regressing.
